Is Daniel Goddard Back on Set?

Fans last saw leading man Cane Ashby on screen in 2019. At that time he left GC to look for his dad Colin (Tristan Rogers) after he forged Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will to make him the sole beneficiary.

Now, a social media message from Daniel, plus head writer Josh Griffith talking about Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) love life, has got the gossip mill burning hot.

This week Goddard posted this message: “Hey, so I am getting a lot of DM’s and a lot of questions about the big news and what was the big news and when do we get to hear what the big news was. All I can say is this: I got a haircut, and it’s for a reason. Soon, very soon. I can’t wait to tell you.”

What a tremendous tease, and we can see why fans are hoping this means he is returning to the show. One hashtag hints at what the big news may be: “Not much longer! Big news to be announced really soon! ❤️ 🙏, #newbeginnings #thebestisyettocome #hairgoals #hairtransformation #bignews.”

Will Cane Return to Y&R?

So, is Goddard just getting a haircut?! Or maybe the new beginnings hints at a return to daytime, seeing as how CBS’s new soap, Beyond the Gates, is on fire.

If Cane comes back thinking he can win over Lily, he is in for a surprise. At the moment shady Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) has got Lily’s attention. We can’t help thinking that these three would make a delicious love triangle, but we’ll have to wait and see if that comes to fruition.

What we do know is that Days of our Lives star Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera) has joined Y&R. It is not known who he will portray, and it could be he is a recast Cane, although that is pure speculation at this point.
