The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that evil aunty Jordan (Colleen Zenk) drank a cup of tea laced with a bottle of sleeping pills and went off to a permanent dirt nap.

Or did she? This is a soap opera after all, where anything can, and does, happen.

A ton of Y&R fans have been speculating about Claire’s return to the crazy side of town. She was once Jordan’s ally, and helped her get back at the Newmans.

But after discovering her aunt’s deceit, Claire straightened up and grew to love and accept the family she thought had abandoned her.

Claire has been a model citizen up until now–toeing the family line, getting a NE job, and dating a GC scion.

So it was alarming to see her lapse right back into old habits by confessing to wanting to kill Jordan. What?!

Claire found out that Jordan escaped prison and was back in GC. She told Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) then pledged them to secrecy: She had a plan so foolproof that Jordan would be eliminated and no one would the wiser.

It seems to have worked! Or did it? Should we believe what Claire is peddling?

Jordan was lured to the tack house and seemingly drank tea that Claire poisoned. Nikki and Victoria were on board with this nasty scenario. But some fans are wondering how Claire can ever be trusted now that she’s a baby-faced killer.

Soaps have a hazy moral code, but usually draw the line at decent characters turning into bloodthirsty murderers like Claire did. What she did was premeditated and calculated—how can she be redeemed going forward?

The answer to that is easy if she really didn’t kill Jordan. First, Claire could have conspired with Jordan to make it look like she killed her. Did anyone see Claire throw a whole bottle of sleeping pills into a dainty cup of tea?

Second, Claire may have intended to kill Jordan, but failed to put a lethal dose in the tea.
Either way, Jordan could have survived what looked like a murder attempt but as she so proudly proclaimed on her deathbed “I’m a cat with nine lives, and I have a few more left.”
