Y&R Amelia Heinle Reveals Interesting Tidbit About Her Onscreen Time With The Late Billy Miller

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that before Jason Thompson stepped into the role of Billy Abbott in 2016, the late and great Billy Miller played the character from 2008 to 2014.

Fans adored Miller in the part, as he brought “Billy-boy Abbott” to life and helped to define the charming, carefree, black sheep of the Abbott family.

Amelia Heinle, who just celebrated 20 years in the land of Genoa City, recently reflected on her time within the soap and revealed something very interesting.

Her Absolute Favorite Storyline

Talking to Soaps.com, Heinle states that her favorite storyline to play during her time as Victoria Newman was, “Working with my dear, departed Billy Miller was probably the most incredible period.” She adds, “It was so special, and the kind of experience you’re forever grateful to have had.”

Miller and Heinle created a ton of sparks onscreen as the well-to-do Newman girl fell for the playboy Abbott, launching the Villy romance.

The two had amazing sparks, and Heinle notes, “It’s so rare that you have that incredible chemistry with your scene partner, and it’s parlayed into a beautiful story.”

They Had Fun

Heinle went on about her and Miller’s Y&R storyline, saying, “We were having so much fun. I think anyone who worked with Billy or met him had fun. He was just the most fun person.”

She reveals, “He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. I never wanted it to end, and I told myself it was never going to get any better because it was just the best time I’d ever had.”

Unfortunately, Miller would move on in 2014, leaving the Young and the Restless to head to the land of Port Charles, where he played Drew Cain on General Hospital. He stayed on the ABC soap until 2019.

Sadly, the actor passed away in 2023, leaving many family members, loved ones, and soap peers devastated. Heinle notes, “That’s the kind of person he (Billy Miller) was,” as she sadly smiled. “Unforgettable.”
