They are living together with his mother in Long Island, and there seems to be some tension in their home.

Joan has learned a lot about Greg now that they are living under the same roof, and she isn’t sure that this is the life that she wants.

Greg isn’t working right now and has almost no motivation. However, he will have to pay a bride price in order to marry her.

Joan’s Suggestions

While Greg and Joan finally had some alone time in the previous episode, Joan decided to make some suggestions to Greg about their marriage. While he was doing some work around the house, she gave him a bit of an ultimatum.

She told him that there is a big bride price to pay to get married, and she suggested that he get a job soon. After talking to her more about the dowry, he realized that fifteen cows cost a lot of money.

Greg may be risking their relationship if he can’t get a job soon. Having a wedding isn’t going to be cheap, and if Joan moves to the United States for good, Greg will have to sponsor Joan until she can get her green card and get a job. It is not looking good for Greg right now.

Their Love Story

Greg is 35 and met Joan in Uganda. She is 26 and works for a nonprofit. When they met, Greg liked her, but he wasn’t sure what their relationship would look like.

They lost touch, but a year and a half later, she found him on social media, and they started talking more and began dating. They fell deeply in love, and shortly after, Greg asked her to marry him.

Without a steady job and a home of their own, Joan isn’t so sure that Greg is the man for her.
