Don’t be alarmed. The emergency closing of Sandringham Castle has nothing to do with King Charles’ recent health struggles.
The reason the last minute amendment was shared was due to construction work going on in the area.
Sandringham Castle Staff Receives Last Minute Closure Notice
The Easter holidays are fast approaching and we are already making plans of places to visit to have fun and make happy memories with loved ones.
In this note, a lot of change is happening around Sandringham in time for the holidays, and there might be even more inspiring things for the little ones to do around the impressive property.
The last minute closure notice was shared on Instagram on Wednesday, March 26. The announcement read, “The Children’s Play Area will be closed all day, on Friday 28th March due to essential forestry work.”
The play park has always been one of the most popular places for tourists with young children, and of course the Wales’ children would probably also have a wild time there whenever they visit their Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall.
For those who are considering exploring the castle with their children, you can check out their Instagram account and scroll through the sweet videos they share of how much fun a child has at the park.
Last year, they shared a lovely video of children having fun, and captioned it with, “Whilst the Easter weekend might be coming to an end, there’s still lots to explore for the rest of half-term – thanks to @norfolkplayparks for adventuring in our woodland play area.”
However, a fun time for the kids won’t be the only satisfaction you’ll be getting from the park.
“By visiting the Play Area and using our car packs you’ll be helping fund tree planting, climate change projects and carbon offsetting as a proportion of parking funds will be donated to Ecologi, an environmental conservation organization that the Estate has partnered with,” they added.
During its normal working operations, the Play Area is open from dawn until dusk and is located in the Royal Parkland.
Apart from the water slide, kids can experience the fun of climbing with the help of the climbing apparatus and a slide and a zipwire. There’s also a music station where kids can learn and have fun at the same time.
Sights Tourists Can Enjoy When They Visit Sandringham Castle
When Charles took over the property as the monarch, he quickly started implementing changes that will update the gardens and give it an even more breathtaking edge.
One of the changes included the Lower Maze Garden, which was completed last year.
Summertime is usually the best time to truly appreciate the beauty of the 8,000-hectare estate.
