Reason Meghan Markle Discarded Her Old Friendship Group Revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding was such a big deal for so many at the time that it blew Meghan’s fame to a whole new level.

With her celebrity status eclipsing the peak of her pre-Harry fame, it seemed that everything was slipping right through her fingers as leak after leak flooded the press.

PR expert Nick Ede opened about his cooled friendship with the Duchess during his latest chat with Hello Magazine for their A Right Royal podcast. He recalled meeting the former actress during her time on ‘Suits,’ when he tried to help her break into the UK market.

In return, she helped him with charity event planning. Before their fallout, they used to meet up at Soho House to hang out or go shopping from time to time.

“Things cooled off, then I got the Piers Morgan treatment in the end,” Nick said. “We were messaging each other when she was feeling bullied and Prince Harry put out that statement, and I said, ‘I’m glad you’ve got somebody who’s actually supporting,’ and she said, ‘That really means a lot.’ Our friendship was generally a good friendship. We’d message and text eachother a lot. I have my own charity and she was going to help and write about it on The Tig.”

Ede does understand that the reason she cut off ties with him might have to do with her new occupational hazard – her fame as the Duchess of Sussex is a global thing after all.

“I tell you what is great about Meghan—and didn’t really come across in the TV show—is that she was genuinely interested in people and genuinely wanted to take the time and a moment to learn more about them,” he explained.

“I felt that was really authentic and I really liked that about her—there was also a vulnerability and insecurity too. She looked fabulous and gorgeous but there was a shyness too, which was very endearing.”
