Princess Kate Officially Breaks Silence On Prince William’s Look

Prince William stepping out in 2024 with a beard was as shocking as it was controversial. When the royal first started spotting a beard – after being clean-shaven for several years – it made headlines.

The royal fandom couldn’t get themselves to agree on whether Prince William’s beard was the better look or if he looked better the old way.

Shortly after debuting a beard, he went clean-shaven. At that time we thought the world was coming back to normal, but no.

He stepped out in public one day and what do we see? A beard. We’ve all said as much as can be said on the matter already, but what about the one person whose opinion on his beard truly matters?

Princess Kate Reveals She Doesn’t Know How Long Prince William Will Spot His Beard

Princess Kate still doesn’t want to tell us how much or how little she fancies the beard – for the record, I’m all for it – but she does know it’s a phase that would likely pass.

During an engagement at Wellington Barracks in London, Kate told the soldiers: “These trends come and go. I’m not sure how long he’s going to keep his for.”

In general, the beard doesn’t come with him for every occasion as the princess explained: “Every time he has his uniform on it’s like ‘definitely no beard’.”

One of the soldiers then informed her that he generally spends more time grooming his beard than shaving it.

Prince William Details Princess Charlotte’s Funny Reaction To His Beard

The fans weren’t the only ones who did a backward tumble when they discovered that Prince William is now spotting one of those fancy man-beards. Princess Charlotte seems to have had a sharp reaction as well.

In his 2024 trip to South Africa for Earthshot, he said: “Well Charlotte didn’t like it the first time. I got floods of tears, the first one I got tears, so I have to shave it off. And then I grew it back. I thought, hang on a second, and I convinced her it was going to be okay.”

While Kate is yet to tell us whether she loves the beard or whether she’s just managing it, the couple’s former communications secretary Jason Knauf did share something about how she may have likely reacted to it. He said: “If she didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be there. I can tell you that.”
