Prince Harry’s Relationship With James Corden Was Saved By David Beckham

Yup, you read the headline right. Prince Harry and James Corden’s relationship was not exactly off to a blooming start in their earlier days. In fact, evidence suggests that their relationship might have well ended the day a tipsy Prince Harry took a jibe at the late night show host.

Prince Harry Left James Corden “Absolutely Raging” With Tipsy Comment

With the way Prince Harry and James Corden are such chums today, you might not guess that their beginning was not so easy.

Per the Daily Mail, Harry was enjoying a “pre-Christmas boys’ p*** up” at the Arts Club in Mayfair in 2011 when the tiff happened. He was joined by A-list friends including ex-footballer David Beckham and producer Ben Winston.

Corden, who was starring in the ‘West End’s One Man, Two Guvnor’ at the time, rushed over to the part after coming off stage.

However, when he arrived at the party, he was greeted by a joke from the Duke, that, even though Daily Mail did not disclose it, was said to have left Corden “absolutely raging.”

The Daily Mail source said: “There was rapture when he arrived. He was a much-loved part of the group and there were hugs and giggles. The group was pretty large. There were some of Harry’s friends, some of James’ friends and some of David’s gang and they all intertwined.”
“Then it all kicked off, James was furious. It quickly emerged that Harry had told a joke and James definitely did not find it funny.”

Beckham, 49, quickly took control of the situation by playing the peacemaker and calming both sides down. He reportedly told Corden that the joke was not meant as a cruel thing.

The pair then happily worked past their differences and peace was restored. Since then, they’ve managed to forge friendship close enough for James, 46, to be invited to Harry’s 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle.

At the couple’s reception, James acted as a compere; a clear sign that the friendship is still smoothly sailing. Following his move to LA, Harry joined Corden on his show and chatted about life in sunny California.
