As the veterans competed to know whose country will emerge the winner in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada this week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were busy packing on the PDAs.
They kissed, they hugged and they held hands – the picture of a happy unbothered couple. However, a royal expert is reading more into this overflowing of joy and love shared between Harry and Meghan at the Games and the theory is not what you expect.
Royal Expert Calls Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s PDA “Pretty Intense”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t appear to be able to keep their hands off of each other during the 2025 Invictus Games, or even their lips for that matter.
We know that the couple has always been touchy-feely even in public, but fans are convinced they packed it on this time. Why is that?
Some believe it’s because they wanted to dismiss the rumors of a split – it was so significant Harry countered it a few months back – and others believe they want to present the perfect picture of marital bliss.
For Bronte Coy, the reason is not so far-fetched.
She told The Sun on their Royal Exclusive show, “I think that there’s going to be an extraordinary amount of scrutiny on everything that happens with them and their relationship because of the professional separation that happened last year.”
She continued: “With that said, the PDAs were pretty intense, and we got more of a front row seat to all of these PDAs. It was kissing, hugging, hand holding, just looking on surface value, at least, it certainly looked like a couple very much in love.”
Harry and Meghan were pictured at different times kissing, hugging, holding hands, with Meghan even keeping her head on Harry’s shoulder.
Are Royal Couples Required To Keep PDA To A Minimum During Public Appearances?
Would Prince Harry and Meghan have smooched up a storm in front of the cameras if they were still a part of the Royal Family? Maybe or maybe not. See, there’s no formal rule that prevents royal couples from engaging in a little PDA of their own.
In 2020, Bronte confirmed this to PEOPLE, saying, “Senior members of the royal family would likely not be told how to interact or when they can or cannot show PDA and would be trusted to use their better judgement as to when it’s appropriate.”
“The royals often adjust PDA to mirror the formality of the event they are attending.”
As for the reason, Harry and Meghan decided to show their love to the world at the Invictus Games, Bronte opined: “The reason we saw so much of that, to tie it in with the Instagram part, is because she was posting a lot of these moments together.”
