NATAS Has A Huge Change In Play For 52 Daytime Emmy Awards

Daytime News reveals that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced that the 52nd Daytime Emmy® Awards are not going to be held in June 2025.

This is a huge change but it does not mean that the organization will not recognize the daytime dramas Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. Instead, the group will honor these shows later in the year.

New Daytime Changes

The Daytime Emmys will be held in October this year. What is the reason for the change? It is because the 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards will move to June 2025. Here is what you need to know.NATAS Has A Huge Change In Play For 52 Daytime Emmy Awards

This is the updated 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Award timeline:

Entries open: January 9
Regular deadline: January 24
Final entry deadline: February 7
Judging window: March 3-April 14
Nominations will be announced: Week of April 28/first week of May
46th News & Documentary Emmy Awards Air: June 2025

Moving the timeline allows the News and Documentary Emmys to be more timely with their recognition of time-sensitive content, and the shorter submission window allows for ample judging time.

NATAS President & CEO, Adam Sharp said: “For nearly half a century, the News & Documentary Emmys have honored the best in broadcast journalism and documentary programming.”
