Sister Wives star Meri Brown, 54, found some praise from years ago when she worked in the mental health field. Fans agreed it was a nice positive post during the ugly scenes that play out on Season 19 of the TLC show.

Meri Brown Always Wanted To Work

When Kody Brown’s first wife married him, she set her eyes on a career. However, it fell away after the Sister Wives show started airing. Some people blame Robyn Brown for it, and others believe that the notoriety of the show meant she had to leave work. Anyway, she gave up her psychology studies and left the field of mental health.

Since then, Meri brown boosted her income with LulaRoe and she also purchased her family home in Parowan. Turning it into a bed and breakfast also gave the TLC star a place to retreat to when she left Flagstaff. While it’s not social work, she does run some Worthy Up sessions there.

Positive Praise For Meri Brown

On the weekend, a Sister Wives fan found a post that they liked. The screenshot about the TLC star originated on Facebook. In the text, the caption from FB cited someone who knew Meri from her social work days. It said, “Meri was my daughter’s therapist. She was incredible and now my daughter is a well adjusted adult living a good life…and I give Meri a lot of the credit for that.”

Meri working w/ at-risk youth.
Found this one comment on a FB reel and thought this group could appreciate the positivity about Meri.

An argument about whether Meri Brown was a therapist or not ensued. However, some Sister Wives fans pointed out that anyone in social work who deals with at-risk kids is often referred to as a therapist.

TLC Fans Responded In The Discussion Area

TLC fans were keen to talk about the social work post. Here are some of their thoughts about it:

  • She was probably more of a youth group worker who worked within the realm of the juvenile justice system. Not an easy job. Good for her.
  • More like a counselor, but if they use the word therapist, it doesn’t matter. Same outcome.
  • I’ll never understand why Robyn cared if Meri went back to school or work.
  • … if it’s true that she made a positive impact on someone’s life, good for her.

What are your thoughts about Meri Brown being credited with helping someone’s daughter who was an at-risk kid? Are you sad that the TLC star had to give up her career ambitions to be a psychologist?
