Meri Brown Departs Lizzie’s Heritage Inn: A New Chapter?

Meri Brown from TLC’s Sister Wives seems to have stepped away from her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. Naturally, fans of the show wonder if she’s abandoned it, or is putting it up for sale. It seems that her historic family home in Utah might be standing empty.

The Old Home Looks Abandoned

Recently on Reddit, u/polly-graph shared photos of the Inn and it looked ugly, viewers opined. With brown lawns and a dismal appearance, nobody would want to stay there. Interestingly, when Meri recently shared a post about a mystery man, there was a U-Haul. So, some TLC fans suspect she might have moved to Las Vegas again.

The  154-year-old property, which was a family heirloom closed its doors to regular guests in August 2024 for renovations. At the time, Meri cited  the need for “some TLC.” However, one fan on social, media noted that it’s no longer a BNB.” She said something on the show about no longer operating it as a B&B, but as an event venue. I don’t know who would want to hold an event there, it does look pretty run down,” they opined.

Abandoned Forever Or Not?

In 2025, an episode of the TLC show revealed that Kody Brown’s ex-first wife said, “Running the B&B was never my dream.” While it had sentimental value, it was her mom, Bonnie Ahlstrom who enjoyed managing the place. Jenn Sullivan took over the management after Bonnie passed away and it seems as if Meri moved into the carriage house when she left Flagstaff.

Conflicting reporting suggested that Meri Brown refinanced her mortgage, so it seems odd that the place looks deserted. However, the Sister Wives star said that she wanted to do some renovations. so perhaps work will start on the interior soon. On the LIzzie’s Heritage Inn website, it states:

Though the inn may no longer be open for reservations, its legacy will always remain in the hearts of those who’ve experienced its warmth and charm.

One Sister Wives fan suggested that Meri Brown might still do the place up and host special tours and events like her October 2024 Haunted House Tour.

A New Direction

After Meri Brown secured a third loan or re-mortgage of $485,000 on the property in December last year, nothing much happened. And, the lack of a clear reopening plan fueled speculation. One fan said, “I saw another thing about her doing a lot in Vegas in upcoming months – and that maybe she’d be stayin’ there for a bit- ???”

However, another follower added, “She was live from her carriage house yesterday so she’s still there working at least.” So, perhaps the furnishings were moved into storage while workers started renovating the place.

These days, the TLC star seems set on a new career direction with the Worthy Up business hosting motivational events. In time, she seems keen on releasing a book. Perhaps she no longer needs accommodation clients in her B&B and will keep it. If, like Christine Brown, she publishes a book, she might no longer need the old home for an income.
