Meghan Markle’s return to Instagram with a New Year’s post was a happy surprise for fans.
In what was her first social media post in years, the Duchess shared a short video where she is seen having fun by the beach and writing “2025” in the sands.
As her first post marking her return to social media, anyone can bet that it means more than just a simple frolic by the sea.
Experts believe that she planned the whole thing down to her choice of clothing, and each detail was a symbol of what is to come.
Meghan Markle Wanted Instagram Post To Be All About Her
According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Meghan Markle wanted to project a lot of messages with her short New Year’s video, where she made a solo appearance, running around and smiling broadly.
The sky was a grey overcast, but the Duchess opted for a floaty ivory shirt and cropped white jeans. She was barefoot in the video, running around the empty beach.
Apart from signifying a new chapter in her life, Seward believes it also sends a strong message that Meghan is ready to build a personal brand that doesn’t feature her husband or two young children.
“It’s nothing to do with her and the children or her and Harry – it’s just her,” she said. “I think it’s all about Meghan.”

Apart from what her solo frolicking performance meant, fashion expert Amber Graafland believes that her choice of white attire was not a coincidence.
“When it comes to orchestrating her image, Meghan is the master,” Graafland said of the video. “Running barefoot and make-up free down a beach towards the sea, her outfit was carefully selected to communicate a clear and important message.”
“By opting to wear head-to-toe white, she was conveying that she wants to leave the past firmly behind her and start again,” she explained, adding, “White not only represents new beginnings – it symbolises purity, innocence and neutrality.”
Shortly after her return to Instagram, Netflix released the trailer for her cooking show ‘With Love, Meghan,’ which will reportedly see her cook, clean and entertain guests.
