King Charles was recently forced to cancel some royal engagements due to showing side effects to his cancer treatment.
Since then, the elderly monarch has decided to leave the busy streets of London for a quiet recovery time at this impressive royal estate. Here’s what we know.

King Charles has been advised to take a short break from his busy calendar to get his body back up to speed. The royal was recently rushed to the hospital, where he was monitored for a short period of time, due to encountering side effects from his cancer treatment.
The announcement further explained that the King would be taking a short break, and it seems he’s decided to leave Clarence House – his official London residence – to stay at his Gloucestershire Home, Highgrove House.
The King was pictured waving farewell to well-wishers on his way from the London residence.
“We were horrified when we heard the news yesterday,” tourist Julian Mati, who was among the people that sighted the waving monarch said, adding: “We had come down to the palace today to take pictures but we never imagined we would see the King. To see him smiling and waving, it’s such a relief.”
King Charles has had a long history of being a workaholic, but longevity expert Dr. Mohammed Enaya warned that he definitely needs to take it slow or his body might fail him.
“Failing to slow down can have significant, negative consequences on physical and mental health,” he explained. “Chronic stress from overworking contributes to persistent inflammation in the body, which has been linked to cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and a weakened immune system.”
“From a neurological perspective, insufficient rest from failing to slow down impairs cognitive function, affecting memory, decision making, and emotional regulation,” the founder of the London longevity clinic HUM2N added.
Even as he takes a break, it is understood that Charles will continue to do some work from the comfort of his home. So far, he has broken his silence to sympathize with the people of Myanmar over the recent earthquake that caused so much destruction.
