Jonah Johnston from 7 Little Johnstons on TLC will be 25 years old in 2025, and fans are getting snarky because they think Trent and Amber Johnston still treat him like a child. The criticism came after the Galantines Day episode last week.
Trent & Amber Treat Their Son Like A Child
It’s not the first time that TLC fans slammed Johah in Season 15 of the reality TV show. Additionally, some older episodes bring criticism, and an old scene from 2022 got trashed when he moved home after his Delta 8 issue. Viewers were shocked that he didn’t give his sisters any privacy.
Trent and Amber Johnston treat their son like a child as far as TLC fans are concerned. While Jonah Johnston is their child, he’s a grown adult. Admittedly, he ran into some problems when he used Delta 8. But, he shouldn’t be babied by his parents, seems to be the general consensus.
Ashley Gets Confronted Over Her Boyfriend
In the Galantine episode on 7 Little Johnstons, TLC viewers saw that Trent and Amber Johnston once again talked to Ashley, his girlfriend. Once her studies were over, she wanted to move closer to Jonah. But, they disagreed because they still wanted him cared for at home. Alternatively, they felt she should take care of their son. Trent said, “I really don’t think he should be living by himself.”

On Reddit, critics rushed to talk about the molly-coddling of the reality TV star. The OP said in part:
How Old is Jonah?… I’m guessing like, 15 years old? The way they are treating him as though he is a child is not going to help him succeed in the adult world. Oh yeah yeah yeah, he tried Delta 8 and had a bad experience and freaked out, many people have had similar experiences. Growing up means making mistakes and learning from them and getting BACK UP. He has anxiety? So do 1:5 adults. In an average workplace with 200 employees, that’s 40 adults with anxiety…

Even Jonah Johnston felt that his parents seemed “annoying” and cloying. So, other viewers rushed to discuss it in the comments. Here are some of their opinions about the situation with Jonah:
- He’s an adult and Ashley is an adult and they (Amber/Trent) had no call to make those comments to her. It was trashy tbh.
- That talk that they had recently was so weird. They are in their 20s and do not need Trent and Amber telling how to proceed with their relationship…To put pressure on Ashley that Jonah needs someone to live with is ridiculous.
- What about what Ashely expects and needs in a partner? It was all about Jonah and how she better be ready to support him and his needs.
Do you agree it’s wrong that Trent and Amber Johnston expect Ashley to care for their son as if he’s a child? Vent in the comments below and come back here often for all your 7 Little Johnstons news and updates.
