Janelle Brown Triumphs With T-Shirts Vs Kody’s Brand Blunder

Sister Wives Star Janelle Brown - TLC - YouTube

Sister Wives star Janelle Brown and her daughter Maddie Brown Brush started selling t-shirts as merchandise while they developed TAEDA Farms in North Carolina. Notably, they’re a big hit with TLC fans. So, it seems that Kody Brown made a bad brand decision when My Sisterwife’s Closet launched in 2018. He was against the idea of selling them.

Why Was The Patriarch Against T-Shirts?

All of the wives of Kody Brown were involved in the online jewelry store, but it was Robyn Brown’s baby. Some TLC fans believe that much of the jewelry for My Sisterwife’s Closet was designed by her son, Dayton. Unfortunately, it didn’t fly off the shelves, though.

Kody Brown rejected the idea of also selling t-shirts on the shop’s website. At the time, the spiritual husband of Janelle Brown, Christine, Meri, and Robyn seemed resistant to generic items like t-shirts, fearing they might upset the unique appeal. Anyway, for years the site sat dormant.

The Farm Merch

Janelle and Maddie Brown Brush purchased land in North Carolina and they revealed that TAEDA Farms will sell flowers. Excited fans wanted to know if they could cut their own flowers. However, a hitch came because they encountered so much red tape. While they stalled, the two Sister Wives stars launched their t-shirts via their farm’s website.

The development of TAEDA Farms is back on track now, and the t-shirts fly off the shelf. So, Janelle Brown must be smiling with glee. Extremely popular with Sister Wives fans, clearly, Kody Brown blundered when he rejected the idea. On the weekend, fans reality TV fans on Reddit discussed the failure on Reddit.

Brand Misjudgment

OP u/AffectionateFig5435 thought it was hilarious that Kody failed to make t-shirts for My Sisterwife’s Closet. They gloated, “Kody and Robyn were worried that selling t-shirts, one thing we know people love to buy.” The fan recalled how they were worried that t-shirt merchandise would “tarnish the image of…ugly overpriced  jewelry.”

In the discussion that followed, fans of Janelle also mocked Robyn Brown. One of them said, “I hope Janelle starts making some American girls T-shirts for Robin‘s doll collection🤣🤣.”

Another Sister Wives viewer wrote, “It’s because it wasn’t Robyn’s idea..”

More comments followed, and here’s a  small sample:

  • IMO Robyn wanted nothing to outshine her. Kody has always done exactly what Robyn wants.
  • Robyn and Kody totally missed the mark on their target buyer. They did no market research obviously. Coffee cups, aprons and T-shirts would have sold because it was in an affordable price bracket and things people could use. Their jewelry was expensive, ugly, and not something a non-sister wife woman would want to wear.
