Is Y&R Prepping For Victor Newman’s Exit?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate that ever since Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had his face-off with Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and got shot, there’s been a lot of ‘what ifs’ and talk around The Moustache’s near-death experience. Is the show foreshadowing his possible exit?

What Would Genoa City Be Like Without Victor Newman?

As fans recall, Victor put his life on the line during a confrontation with Ian at the Newman Ranch.

During the encounter, Ian initially shot Victor and then the Moustache ambushed the villain.

The two struggled with the gun, which led to Ian being shot. Ian apparently “died” (although he did wake up in the ambulance on the way to the morgue), while Victor recovered at the hospital and is now home.

Still, shortly after the fact, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had scenes where the siblings talked about what they would do without their dad.

Even Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) jokingly mentioned recently that he contemplated what life would be like without Victor. Could this just all be “talk” or is the soap hinting at a Victor Newman exit?

Celebrating 45 Years of Victor Newman

Both Braeden and Newman recently celebrated 45 years on the Y&R, as the cast and crew got together for a special event honoring the actor and iconic soap character.

Braeden recently revealed to TV Insider he doesn’t have plans to exit the daytime drama, anytime soon!
During the interview, Braeden stated, “There were moments, obviously, during negotiations and all that where you say, ‘OK, that’s it. Bon voyage, and then it always works out.”
He goes on to say, “But the actors I used to work with in the ’60s on nighttime television and film are either not working or they’re gone, passed away. I’m a stubborn son of a b****. I’m still here.”

So, it looks like Victor and Eric are here to stay … for now!
