Is Tammy Slaton Done With Filming 1000-Lb Sisters?

Tammy Slaton Regresses Or Takes Control?

For a while, now, TLC fans have been talking about Tammy regressing. Some people think that her nastiness when she was vastly overweight still lurks in the new version of the 1000-Lb Sister star. The conversation started because she closed her mouth, folded her arms, and stopped listening to the surgeon who said she couldn’t have her skin removal done yet. They thought the old petulant Tammy had returned.   

Despite Tammy Slaton having shed over 500 lbs, she is still quite a recent patient to do so. And, her doctor preferred that she wait a while. However, TLC fans now wonder if the petulance was not just a sulk. In fact, they suspect that she’s done with invasive scenes on the show. Is she starting to put boundaries in place for her privacy and mental health?

Is Tammy Slaton LIkely To Stop Filming?

On Reddit late last week, a 1000-Lb Sisters fan raised the question about Amy’s sister possibly thinking of ending her reality TV show career. It was a long caption, and in part, they wrote:

Does Tammy want to continue filming?…I noticed in the last season that she was putting up a lot more healthy boundaries with production. I thought that asking for the plastic surgery consulatation not to be filmed was reasonable and I’m glad she wasn’t pushed to film it. Although she did have tanturms at other consulatations leading up to the last one, but that’s not surprising since she has a lot to work on when it comes to regulating her emotions.

The speculation about Tammy Slaton continued, and the TLC fan suggested that there are signs that she stands up to the producers a bit more than she used to. In other words, she’s setting boundaries. However, they did wonder if she would “be able to move forward with her surgeries on her own.”

Fans Agree Tammy Might Leave TLC?

1000-Lb Sisters fans had a long discussion, but most of them seem to feel that it’s unlikely that she would throw away a steady income. Here are some of the interesting contributions in the comments:

• I think there is a big difference between respectfully asking them to share details of their lives vs TLC demanding certain things be shared, and I don’t think I’d keep watching if it felt like they were being asked to do things that are hurting them mentally and emotionally.
• I still don’t understand how much hate she got for shutting down. That’s a very common and healthy way to handle being upset that many … people use to avoid a full-blown meltdown.
• I can totally understand not wanting to be on TV. HOWEVER, she has never worked, doesn’t drive and is very dependent. Ideally she needs to run with it and save as much as she can until the show reaches its natural end but I imagine she must feel trapped by that.
