Kristina Corinthos (Kate Mansi) is used to her family protecting her from any type of accountability.
Usually, it is her mother, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who chooses to sweep things under the rug while coddling her, but not this time.
Alexis found out that there is video proof that Kristina cut the brake line on Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) car, nearly killing him and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), and did the unthinkable.
Instead of burying the proof of the truth, she agreed that Kristina needs help and signed commitment papers.
Alexis Needs To Tell Sonny About Their Daughter’s Latest Crisis
Sonny Corinthios (Maurice Bernard) may be the resident Port Charles crime boss, but he loves his family more than anything, and protecting them is always his first priority.
He and Alexis are usually on pretty good terms, but this latest situation with Kristina isn’t going to sit well. His instinct is also to coddle Kristina, but like Alexis, it’s not going to happen this time.
Part of his protection of Kristina has been to keep her out of trouble. Sonny sees that she consciously tried to kill someone, and that is the kind of escalation that he isn’t going to co-sign on.
He knows that his daughter has been fragile since the loss other daughter, but she has finally completely cracked.
Sonny Agrees That Kristina Needs More Help
After hearing all of the details, Sonny agrees that Kristina belongs in a mental facility. His daughter needs more help than he realized, and Sonny feels bad that he didn’t see it sooner.
Sonny also can’t help but wonder if Kristina will end up with a bipolar diagnosis like his own, and starts to piece together the signs and symptoms that Kristina has exhibited.
Kristina will try to play Sonny against Alexis in an attempt to get him to have her released, but it’s not going to work. Keeping her locked up protects Kristina from herself and everyone else from her unhinged actions.
Everyone is in agreement that she needs to spend some time in Fern Cliff, the real question is whether or not Kristina will agree to treatment. Will she drop her walls and allow herself to be helped, or will Kristina keep blaming everyone else for her problems?
