GH Spoilers: Major Flaw in Cyrus Renault’s Serial Killer Confession

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) finally gave his confession during the Wednesday, February 18 show.

He offered up the reason behind his digitalis killing spree to Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and answered the question on everyone’s mind: what his motive was behind the murder of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Still, some fans caught a major flaw in his confession.

Cyrus Claims He Was Doing ‘God’s Work’

Cyrus made his way to Elizabeth’s home during Wednesday’s show with the intent to off her the way he killed his other victims.

During the entire face-off, he confessed the reason behind his murderous spree, which included why he ended Sam’s life.

It really started off with the need to end his niece’s, Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), suffering. As she was locked in a comatose state between Heaven and Earth, Cyrus realized that he’d be doing God’s work by eliminating Lulu’s pain.

He believed her family keeping her alive was selfish. This was the reason he offed other victims who were ‘trapped’ in these types of conditions.

Elizabeth questioned why he murdered Sam. After all, she was healthy and on her way to a successful recovery after her liver transplant surgery.

Cyrus noted that it was because Sam came between him and God’s divine plan for Lulu. By donating a portion of her liver, Sam was prolonging Lulu’s life in that coma. Cyrus believed that Sam needed to face the consequences of her actions, and he took action.

One Flaw In Cyrus’s Story

Interestingly enough, it was while talking about Sam’s passing that Cyrus revealed it was McCall’s murder that introduced him to digitalis injections as a way to help his victims painlessly pass into the afterlife.

Still, Sam passed away on Halloween 2024. Meanwhile, Sylvie Mullen, another GH patient, an elderly woman, was mentioned during the December 30 edition of the soap.

She passed away died in August of a sudden heart attack, and it was believed that she had digitalis in her system. August 2024 is months before Halloween – so did the GH team suffer from a writing blunder when drafting Cyrus’ big confession?
