General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, January 31 tease mother-daughter talks, cop’s confrontation and ultimate romantic shutdowns!

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has an important mother-daughter talk, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) a confrontation, and Ava Jerome (Maura West) gives the ultimate romantic shutdown!

General Hospital Spoilers: Mother-Daughter Talks

Laura and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) appear to be meeting for coffee as Laura confronts Lulu about her feelings.

Lulu and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) had just talked about Lulu’s feelings for Dante, and now her mother lets her know she sees them too. Laura puts her realization to her daughter, as her daughter looks deep in thought.

“You’re still in love with Dante” Laura says to her daughter. As Lulu had told Maxie, she’d never stopped-she tried to tell him when as she passed out in his arms after her traumatic brain injury.

GH Spoilers: Cop’s Confrontation

Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is actually wise to make the decision she has regarding Dante’s involvement in Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) murder investigation-he’s too close.

Yet he confronts his boss, his voice confirming his disbelief as he asks, “I’m being locked out of Sam’s murder investigation?

Anna will understand Dante’s desire to solve the murder of the woman he loved, but facts are, it’s dangerous territory that could lead to deadly revenge.

When a cop is too close to an investigation, there’s a danger he or she will turn rogue vigilante and murder the perpetrator instead of bringing them to justice!

General Hospital Spoilers: Trying To Help

At Kai Taylor’s (Jens Austin Astrup) hospital room at GH, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) has tried to help him, including having her mother Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) take a look.

It never hurts to get a second opinion when a medical condition affects one’s life as tremendously as it has Kai’s.

He was tackled on the field at an important football game, but it’s not the arm in a sling that disabled him-it was injury to a vertebrae, L5 to be exact.

He tells her she thinks she’s helping, but she’s not; perhaps Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) would be more effective-Kai is in danger of paralysis, and Curtis came back from it.

GH Spoilers: Steps Ahead

In the meantime, Curtis is telling someone he is steps ahead, but he’s not talking about his recovery from paralysis.

He’s talking more likely about his plans for Aurora Media, now that he’s gotten it out from under Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison).

He and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) were to have run it together, but Curtis is on his own with Michael recovering in a burn unit in Germany.

Curtis is confident that his plans will go through-but is it the company he’s talking about, or ruining Drew in DC?

General Hospital Spoilers: Begging To Disagree

Drew doesn’t look like he is with Curtis, but his words could be his begging to disagree with him if he was! Drew answers someone, as he’s telling them “that could not be more wrong”!

Is Drew denying his affair with his nephew’s wife, and ruining his marriage, or is he referring to something else entirely?

Curtis appeared to be in a club while Drew looks like he’s working out in a gym-possibly Volonino’s since it’s doubtful he’s in the Aurora Wellness Center! Curtis banned him from the premises!

GH Spoilers:  Ultimate Romantic Shutdown

Elsewhere, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and Ava are having a meal when she gets up close and personal delivering the ultimate romantic shutdown!

Previously, they’d gotten into a clinch and it looked like Ric and Ava were going to become ‘Rava’! Now she walks it back and tells him it’s as if that kiss never happened-apparently as far as she’s concerned!

But then there was that little matter of Ric pulling Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) huge check out of her hand and saying she hadn’t paid him!

General Hospital Spoilers: No Win Situation!

Elsewhere, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) is talking to her father Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and she may be referring to Ric!

She tells Sonny, “he was not going to win this case” and the case would be Ava trying to get sole custody of Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).

Kristina is still upset, more than likely that her case against Ava for pushing her out the window at the Metro Court was judged in Ava’s favor-not guilty.

Kristina was only a couple of weeks from giving birth when that happened. So of course she’s rooting for her dad and against Ava and Ric in every way she can and encouraging him!
