General Hospital Spoilers reveal Emma Scorpio Drake (Braedyn Bruner) is on a rampage trying to carve out a new life for herself in Port Charles.
Struggling to fit in with pretty much any crowd, it sounds like she has resorted to being the resident party girl as a means of making friends and being liked.
So far, her reputation precedes her when it comes to Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza). In other words, she’s not really his type.
But when his world comes crashing down around him, Gio just might find that Emma’s practice of checking out on responsibility looks a bit more appealing if it means he doesn’t have to confront reality.
The Truth Hurts
At some point, we can trust that Gio is going to learn the truth about his parentage. His dearly departed mother may have been his mom, but she didn’t give birth to him.
It’ll come as a shock for Gio to learn he’s adopted, nevermind that he was adopted from the very “family” her grew up in — and that his biological parents, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), had no idea of the arrangement.
Will he be able to process how this makes him feel about the mom he lost, and how he might feel about opening his heart to the other set he didn’t know he had?
Emma Finds Her Way In
Gio’s grief could be the perfect opportunity for Emma to insert herself deeper into his inner circle. Waltzing around like she’s a woman of mystery is getting old. It’s not working. He’s not interested, and he’s barely entertained by her wild-ish ways.
But could that change if he finds himself feeling like he’s got nowhere to turn and everyone he thought he could trust is suddenly looking like an enemy? Will Emma use Gio’s heartbreak against him to inure him to her? Is that necessarily a bad thing?
Besties or Bust?
Who’s to say that Emma and Gio wouldn’t or couldn’t work out? Maybe they’d be a match made in heaven if he could get her to tame herself a bit.
She is clearly seeking attention and trying to find something that drives her toward a better goal than just advocating against animal cruelty in her spare time. Gio has his head on straight.
Perhaps he’s a good role model; maybe she’ll want to better herself to qualify as girlfriend material in his eyes. On the other hand, things could go terribly wrong. Instead of Emma benefitting from their relationship, Gio could be harmed by it.
Will she indulge his depression and drag him into the abyss where she’s currently lost herself? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
