General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal The Young and The Restless alum Daniel Goddard is blown away by fans’ response to his new GH role. But he was even more surprised that the show created a brand new role just for him!
Josslyn Jacks’ First WSB Assignment Is To Get Intel-Close To A Professor
We now have insight into Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) initial assignment with the WSB on the ABC soap.
Her supervisor, Vaughn (Bryce Durfee), indicated that she must blend into an environmental physics class at PCU and take on the role of research assistant for Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard).
The professor’s true intentions remain undisclosed, but it’s clear that the Bureau’s involvement suggests something significant is at play.
Goddard, along with the official GH Instagram account, posted a video of him strolling through recognizable hallways before stepping outside, where the prominent General Hospital sign was visible.
The post was captioned, “1,973 days later #CBS #YR #Cane —> #ABC #GH #Dalton” accompanied by a heart and praying hands emoji.
Several Y&R Colleagues Congratulated Goddard As Well As New GH Co-Stars
He received multiple congratulatory messages from his former Y&R co-stars as well as GH stars. Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and Chris McKenna (Jack Brennan) greeted him with, “Welcome!!” and “Heeeeyyyy buddy! Welcome!” respectively.
The actor shared with TV Insider that he had previously auditioned for the character of Jack but didn’t land the role.
Nevertheless, the producers were impressed with him and decided to create the character of Dalton specifically for him. “I was absolutely stunned by that,” he expressed with excitement, stating, “It wasn’t just a recast; it was a brand new character, and I was completely amazed.”
Professor Goddard Will Be Calling The Roll!
Goddard, who previously portrayed twins Cane and Caleb Ashby on Y&R, posted another video on Instagram, saying, “Happy Sunday! It’s Professor Dalton here, and I want to share something with you.”
In the video, he expressed his deep gratitude for landing the role and mentioned the overwhelming number of supportive messages he received from fans. “I’m truly amazed, but you know what?” he continued, “You’ve always stood by me since the beginning, and I promise to always be there for you.
Just know that… you are my ride or dies, and this is a mutual journey.” He also emphasized his love and appreciation for his fans, reminding them to tune in to @generalhospitalabc this Tuesday, April 15th, as he will be taking roll call!
