History Of The Nurses’ Ball

Since the mid-1990s, one of the most celebrated traditions of the soap has been its annual Nurses Ball, dedicated to raising awareness for HIV and AIDS.

This poignant event began in 1994, sparked by the storyline of Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) receiving her HIV diagnosis, while her boyfriend, Stone Cates (Michael Sutton), tragically lost his battle.

After eight successful years, the Nurses Ball went on hiatus, only to make a spectacular comeback in 2013, aligning with GH’s 50th anniversary.

The revival featured the beloved Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) returning as host, showcasing a fresh lineup of performers dedicated to funding research and celebrating the invaluable contributions of the hospital’s nurses.

The most recent Nurses Ball took place from April 3-7, 2023, with Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) at the helm while Lucy was off at the Corinthos Cabin.

Will The Show Drop The Ball On The Nurses’ Ball Again?

Recently, fans flocked to Reddit, expressing their yearning for a Nurses Ball in 2025; the initial poster lamented the absence of this beloved event, prompting numerous viewers to share their opinions.

“While I truly appreciate the Nurses Ball, there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding that SAC fundraiser for animal cruelty-it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll see a Nurses Ball this year,” speculated ChaLynnfan.

The username hints at their support for the pairing of Brook Lynn Chase (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), a recent performer at the event.

A potential Nurses’ Ball may well feature Chase again, although as fans remember, Brook Lynn sadly lost her singing ability. This happened after being slashed in the throat by Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) with a pair of scissors.
