General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that fans are a little sad that Valentin Cassadine is no longer in the Port Charles picture.
James Patrick Stuart recently exited the soap after nine years, when Valentin headed to a maximum-security prison in Geneva.
Stuart recently talked about his General Hospital departure with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) and revealed his thoughts on a recent All My Children (AMC) Easter Egg planted within a Valentin scene.

Stuart talked about his exit, and how it was not taken personally (after all, he was no longer under contract), as well as the potential of coming back to the soap someday – which was a resounding, “yes!”.
He also talked about his special working relationships with Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and his onscreen daughter, Scarlett Fernandez (Charlotte Cassadine), whom he watched grow up over the years.
In addition, Stuart acknowledged and thanked the fans but also talked about an interesting scene recently that paid homage to an old AMC character of his.

During the week of March 17-21, Valentin visited his old house, which is now owned by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Rummaging through looking for old papers, he stumbled upon some fake passports for him and Charlotte: one with the name Will Cortlandt and the other Melanie Cortlandt.
Will Cortlandt was a character Stuart played from 1989 to 1992. SOD asked the actor what he thought of the nod to his old AMC role.
Stuart stated he loved it. He added that he’s not sure who made that call but thought it was great. He added that he couldn’t believe how many people caught the subtle AMC Easter egg in the scene, noting, “… it just hit Twitter (X) by storm. I loved that. It made me so happy.
And they even got the Melanie reference.” Of course, Melanie was Will’s sister, played by Paige Turco.
