Gayle King Claps Back At Folks Who Don’t Want Her In Space

Gayle King from CBS is set to fly into space with an all-female crew on the New Shepard from Jeff Bezos’s company, Blue Origin.

The journalist isn’t the first TV celebrity to do so; Michael Strahan from Good Morning America made it to space and back safely in December 2021. However, Gayle’s irritated because people keep telling her not to do it.

The Flight Found Some Critics

Gayle will be joined by Katy Perry, the singer and former American Idol judge. When fans heard about that, they told her to “take a seat” and stay away from anything that moves through the sky.

The news that arrived in late February also noted that other women also go along for the ride. Aisha Bowe, an ex-NASA engineer; research scientist Amanda Nguyen; film producer Kerianne Flynn; and Lauren Sánchez, the fiancée of Jeff Bezos, will all be on the rocket.

Clapping Back At Critics

Gayle King, who was once bashed by Piers Morgan for allegedly being the mouthpiece of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, seems excited about her trip away from Earth. On CBS Mornings this week, the date was confirmed, and the women will jet away on April 14. Of course, CBS will have special coverage on the big day.

Chatting with Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson about the flight, Gayle said, “You can’t get rid of me,” adding, “I’m intending to come back.” Speaking about excitement, what means a lot to her is the fact that her “grandson Lucas” told her that her also wanted to go to space. Additionally, she’s “excited” because he’s also “excited.”

But she also spoke about the negative vibes that she’s been getting. So, she clapped back at those critics.

What Did The Critics Say?

According to the famous journalist, lots of people tell her not to go on the spaceship. She said, in part:

People when you see me on the street, please don’t tell me that not to go. Please don’t tell me, ‘what the hell am Ithinking?”‘ i just want people to cheer me on and be happy for me at this moment because I really am excited and people are messing with my head.

Gayle just wants people to give her “good wishes,” and she’d appreciate it if they did that. Plus, she reminded viewers that she feels “nervous enough” as it is without negativity being thrust in her face.
