Ellen Pompeo Thriller Good American Family Gets Release Date, First Images

Coming from Hulu, the network with critically acclaimed titles to its name, including Only Murders in the Building, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Bear, the new thriller series, Good American Family, stars Ellen Pompeo.

The series now has first images from the series, along with a release date for Good American Family.

Hulu is becoming an unstoppable force with Only Murders in the Building, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Bear among its productions. Meanwhile, when it comes to short-length productions, the streamer is also making its mark.

Coming soon to Hulu subscribers, a new thrilling adventure will reveal the talents of Grey’s Anatomy icon, Ellen Pompeo. The streamer has released first-look images for Good American Family and has also announced its release date. Fans can now celebrate the fact that the first two episodes of Good American Family will premiere on Hulu on March 19. From there on, one episode will release weekly up to a total of eight installments.

About the series

Good American Family focuses on an adoption gone horribly wrong. It will tell the tale of a husband and wife who feel that their family is now complete after adopting a girl who has a rare form of dwarfism.

At first, everything seems to be going great for the family, with their new addition getting on well with their three biological children.

However, as time goes by, odd behaviors displayed by the adopted girl make it seem she may not be who she claims to be. As their paranoia increases to an all-time high, the parents struggle to find the truth about the adopted girl.

Meanwhile, the limited series sets itself apart from other modern dramas, as Good American Family will reveal its story through multiple perspectives, giving viewers many insights into the information.

Grey’s Anatomy fans will be thrilled to watch their favorite medical icon as she leads the cast of the new series alongside Mark Duplass (Creep and The Creep Tapes).

According to Deadline, the series also features performances by Imogen Reid (The Third Day), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Dulé Hill (Psych), Sarayu Blue (Expats) and Jenny O’Hara (The King of Queens).

Behind the scenes

Good American Family comes from Katie Robbins (Sunny, The Affair) who created and is a showrunner along with Sarah Sutherland. Both Robbins and Sutherland are also executive producers alongside Pompeo and Laura Holsteein, Andrew Stearn, Niles Kirchner, Dan Spilo, and Mike Epps. Meanwhile, the two-episode pilot was produced by Liz Garbus (Love, Marilyn).

When does Good American Family premiere on Hulu?

The first two episodes of the thriller series will debut on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, with further episodes released weekly.
