EastEnders spoilers and updates for the week of March 24 tease trauma, secrets, matchmaking and more. Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) is traumatized, Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) spills a secret, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) matchmakes and more!

Teens Getting In Trouble

Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) is grappling with the loss of her adoptive father, Martin Fowler (James Bye). In an effort to lift her spirits, Avani proposes a day of adventure for herself, Lily, and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) by skipping school.

However, their plans are interrupted when Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) spots them.

Avani persuades her mother to overlook their absence, hoping to bring some joy to Lily. The girls are enjoying their escapade until they unexpectedly encounter Marvin (uncredited), the boy who sold Avani vapes the previous year, who then offers them drugs.

Avani Is Traumatized

Avani declines, but when the police arrive and discover the girls are skipping school, they notice the bag of pills that Marvin dropped near Avani. As a result, the officers take the girls to the police station.

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) come separately to pick up Amy and Lily, while Priya and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) miss the calls regarding Avani. Avani is filled with dread upon learning that the officers need to conduct a strip search for drugs.

She feels terrified at the thought of being searched by two female officers, even though she declines the option of having an appropriate adult present.

Suki Arrives

After receiving a tip from Jean Slater, (Gillian Wright) Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) arrives on the scene, horrified by the situation.

However, Avani refuses to allow Suki to file a complaint, and tensions escalate at home when an unaware Priya questions Avani about where she has been. During a heated argument, Avani accuses Priya of being a terrible mother.

But when Priya discovers that her daughter was detained and subjected to a strip search, she storms off to confront Detective Jack regarding the conduct of his colleagues.

Meanwhile, Lily and Amy are taken aback by the shocking news, as a humiliated Avani lashes out at both Suki and Amy before fleeing the scene.

Avani Continues To Struggle

At home by herself, Avani succumbs to her emotions, prompting concern from Suki, Priya, and Suki’s wife, Eve Unwin (Heather Peace). While Avani pretends to be heading out to meet Ravi, she instead chooses to drink a bottle of vodka in the playground.

Alarmed, Priya and Ravi search for her and eventually discover Avani unconscious on the ground. They rush her to the doctor, where Ravi begins to grasp the severity of the situation, with Suki filling him in on recent developments.

Known for his fiery temperament, how will the protective Ravi respond? Can Avani find the strength to overcome her struggles?

Phil Struggles, Nigel Spills

Phil has returned home, feeling thankful for the support from his family and his longtime friend Nigel-however, he isn’t ready for others to learn about his recent stay in a psychiatric hospital.

Later, when Nigel makes a few blunders at the café, Phil inadvertently reveals to a frustrated Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) that Nigel is unwell. This angers Nigel, who retorts sharply, but soon feels remorseful for disclosing Phil’s private matter.

Phil attempts to brush it off, while George Knight (Colin Salmon) wishes to support Phil, though both struggle to express their feelings.

Meanwhile, Nigel, who is dealing with young onset dementia, receives a text from Linda inquiring about his doctor’s appointment-he responds with a lie, claiming he visited the doctor.

George Seeks Advice As To How He Can Support Phil

George reaches out to Linda for guidance on how he can assist Phil, and she encourages him to continue engaging with him. Subsequently, George invites Phil to join him as a sparring partner at The Boxing Den, which helps Phil feel relaxed enough to start sharing his thoughts.

Inspired by this progress, George proposes to Nigel that they establish a recurring club at the gym named ‘Box and Bantz’ specifically for the Over-40s. However, as Phil begins to make strides, will Nigel muster the strength to seek help for himself?

Linda Matchmakes

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) may be on the verge of finding her own romance while she meddles in the relationships of those around her!

Excited by a call from the insurance company about a payout to restore The Queen Vic, her enthusiasm is soon overshadowed by her domineering mother, Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe).

Frustrated, Linda confides in Denise Fox (Diane Parish), but Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) encourages her to re-enter the dating scene.

Reluctant to pursue her own love life, Linda instead focuses on matchmaking her son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) with Felix Baker (Matthew Morrison). Felix will soon leave town so there’s not much future there.

A Nervous Linda Tries A Date

Linda intensifies her efforts to unite the couple, but with Felix’s impending departure from Walford, our expectations for this romance are quite low! Later, Linda reflects on her vow to embrace happiness and decides to let Kim help her find a date.

As she gets ready to meet a man named Jeff (uncredited), nerves start to creep in, but Johnny provides some comforting words. When Linda finally meets Jeff at Harry’s Barn, she attempts to unwind and strike up a conversation. Will she discover love once more?

Gina And Anna Compete For A Job

In a thrilling showdown, Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) vie for a promising new position.

Both approach Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), the owner of Harry’s Barn, seeking bar work. However, Nicola reveals that there is only one opening and that the two must compete for it.

The next day, as they arrive for their trial, they are surprised to find that Harry (Elijah Holloway), not Nicola, will be overseeing the process. With Harry’s mischievous nature leading him to tease Gina, the outcome of the trial hangs in the balance.
