Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Roslyn Gentle recent run on the soap was short but incredible!
Playing Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) thought-to-be-dead mother, Rachel Blake a.k.a. the Woman in White, her character’s return offered heartwarming moments, sprinkled in with some scary ones, and of course, a ton of drama.
Gentle recently caught up with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) to talk about her exit and another potential comeback.
Ros Gentle On Her Run
Gentle tells SOD that while her Days run in Salem was “hectic and crazy” it was also “lovely”, “exciting”, and “driven”. She adds, “It was a really exhilarating experience for an actor because you’ve got to commit so strongly straight away. Usually, an actor will sort of go in, do a little rehearsal, then try [a scene] sort of full-on, and then do it really full on.”
Gentle goes on to say, “Well, you have to go from 0 to 80 in soaps. There’s no graduation. There’s no moving up to 30 miles an hour, then 50, 60, 70, 80 … You have to go from zero to 80 right away.”
With that said, Gentle also states that the daytime drama was one of the most “welcoming sets” she’s ever been on, from the people she worked with in front of the camera to the hair and makeup colleagues backstage.
While she only worked with Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali), Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera), Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez) and Finley Rose Slater (Rachel Black), Gentle notes that she got to know other co-stars in the makeup room where she’d share a chat. She adds that everyone was lovely and friendly.
Gentle On Returning
Rachel Blake’s exit left a lot to the imagination, as EJ realized he needed to get rid of the older woman in order to save his own skin, during the Friday, March 21 episode. Kristen returned to the mansion to see her mother, and she was gone.
Gentle notes that in any soap, the door is open no matter what the exit looks like. She’s not wrong, after all, the Woman in White had been dead and “gone” for decades before Roslyn breathed new life into the character.
But would Gentle return if asked to reprise the role? The actress states “I’d love to return. I want to know what’s happened to me because it was not clear when I left. I can’t say too much. I’m waiting to see what happens after a while.”
