Deavan Clegg Shares Taeyang On Birthday He Nearly Never Had

Deavan Clegg, formerly on 90 Day Fiancé, welcomed her son, Taeyang, with Jihoon Lee on April 11, 2019. Ahead of the weekend, she shared some photos of her son on social media on his birthday. Actually, it’s thanks to modern medicine that he was around to celebrate his special day. 

Taeyang Turns Six Years Old

The first photo that Deavan posted on her Instagram showed her son as TLC fans remember him. He was still a baby, and no signs of his future fight for life were evident. 

The second photo showed how tall her little boy had grown since fans last saw him on the TLC show. He looked healthy, and that’s the most important thing because some of his struggles were absolutely terrifying for his mom. 

In her caption, Deavan Clegg, who had taken a break from social media, said:

Can’t believe my baby boy is six! The most courageous little man I know! He has made our lives so adventurous and has conquered all odds. I am so blessed to have you in my life and thank god every day for giving you to me. I love you so so so much and I eagerly await many more birthdays! I love you Taeyang happy birthday, mama.

Fans React In The Comments

Although many fans found the journey of Taeyang too traumatic to follow, many people loyally watched as he fought off acute lymphoblastic leukemia childhood cancer. The devastating news arrived in May 2022. So lots of comments arrived on his 6th birthday.

The Fight For Life Took Years

Deavan Clegg documented her son as he fought for his life. At times, when he suffered from sickness or had bad reactions to chemotherapy, it seemed that he wouldn’t make it. However, the happy news arrived in August last year that Taeyang had finally beaten his cancer. 

Naturally, she was happy about that, and her fans rejoiced. At the time, she said, “After a grueling two years and three months, we are thrilled to announce that Taeyang is now cancer-free! The journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs, and… Taeyang’s resilience and bravery have been truly inspiring, making him the strongest person I know.”
