Jinger Duggar Vuolol launched her new book, People Pleaser: Breaking Free from the Burden of Imaginary Expectations? Her previous book, Becoming Free, Indeed is a bestseller. But this time, Counting On fans are mocking the TLC alum. Read on to find out why.
Jinger Duggar Took A Different Approach to Jill
When Jill Duggar Dillard wrote her book, Counting The Cost, she opened fire on her dad, Jim Bob Duggar. Getting to the bottom of her issues, she didn’t hold back. Naturally, a lot of Counting On fans admired her for that. But, Jinger took a side approach, shading the IBLP rather than her parents.
Many TLC fans felt that all Jinger Duggar did was swap one cult for another. Now, with the release of People Pleaser, more criticism goes her way. One of those reasons seems obvious, and it amused TLC fans. But the other reason goes a bit deeper.
Jinger Duggar Gets Mocked
Counting On fans heard about the new book in September last year. Jeremy Vuolo and his wife chatted about what the title meant. In short, it meant that the TLC alum wanted to please other people, but it was only motivated by personal fear of rejection. Well, it seems that some people believe that not slamming her mom and dad simply makes her new book another example of being a people pleaser
Jinger Duggar also listed her book under an odd sort of category on Amazon. On Reddit, TLC fan u/itsrowsdower said in the caption of their post:
Top New Release in Dysfunctional Families Category on Amazon.
And, that made for the second point of mockery by Counting On fans.
TLC Fans Reacted & Dissed The New Book
Jinger Duggar got roasted for listing the book in a category that seemed way off-mainstream. So, she is doing well with it in an obscure category that hardly anyone ever heard of. Here are some reactions to the People Pleaser title, contents, and category:
- .Instead of labeling a book in a major category like Fantasy or Biography that apply to millions of books, you put it in the most niche category you can like Dysfunctional Families that has significantly few books in it which makes it easier to promote and get to the top of the list.
- 15 minutes of fame and all that.
- “Breaking free”? But still defending her family and giving only the most surface level answers to interview questions. Girl please.
- Ironically, the very thing she claims to not be in writing this book, a people pleaser, is what is preventing her from spilling Duggar tea..
- Why should we read a book by someone who clearly has not admitted to herself anything that might be too uncomfortable. Girl needs to stop writing books and go see a therapist.
What are your thoughts on critics thinking that the new book by Jinger Duggar simply reveals that she is guilty of being a people pleaser by not doing a tell-all publication about her family? Do you think it’s amusing that her new book is under such an obscure category on Amazon?
