The Sussexes’ relationship with Netflix are at an end. For one thing this is the year their precious little contract with the streaming giant expires and chatter says Netflix is by no means considering any kind of renewal.
If Netflix goes, then they would have lost Netflix and Spotify – two promising partners for their Archewell Productions.
I also hear their deal with Penguin Random House was quietly dropped, so maybe 2025 is the year Harry and Meghan actually start looking for real jobs? See what a comedian has to say on that head.
John Mulaney Jokes Netflix Gave The Sussexes Money “Without A Specific Plan”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s deal with Netflix may not have yielded the best shows in recent times, but it had its moments. For example, ‘Harry and Meghan’ remain the most watched documentary on Netflix. But in recent days, they’ve been having quite a few misses.
At a major celebrity affair hosted by Netflix, comedian John Mulaney cracked a d*mning joke on Harry and Meghan’s name.
“This will be the one place where you [might] see Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting next to Nikki Glaser sitting next to a family therapist with music by Mannequin Pussy.
This is a really fun experiment. Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan,” he quipped.
Audience Member Reacts To John Mulaney’s Joke At Prestigious Netflix Event
One of the audience members was shocked that Netflix would allow their goose to be cooked at such an important event they hosted. “It was shocking to me that Netflix would seemingly allow Meghan and Harry to be ridiculed at such a prestige event,” the source told The Mail.
‘”And how strange that a show by the couple who signed a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix barely featured – apart from one brief clip in a montage. It really felt like Netflix don’t give a d*mn.”
This is coming after Netflix postponed ‘With Love, Meghan’ to March on account of the California fires.
In a statement to Tudum, Meghan said, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
Prior to the delay, fan reception of the trailer was mostly negative.
