Colleen Zenk Reflects On Y&R Exit – ‘Sadness’ On Jordan’s Demise, Love For Ray Wise, & Thankful For Fans

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) fans are still reeling from Jordan’s recent dramatic exit on the Friday, January 24 episode.

The character always had a way of escaping sticky situations like the one she was in, so viewers were shocked when the villainess breathed her last breath after drinking a tea filled with crushed-up sleeping pills.

The ever-talented, Colleen Zenk, recently spoke with TV Insider, to talk about her run as Jordan and the character’s exit.

Zenk admitted she was a little upset about Jordan’s abrupt demise, noting, “I’m sad Jordan went away so quickly.” The actress added, “I thought that Ian and Jordan would go out like Bonnie and Clyde together.”

Still, Zenk revealed that despite this, she was grateful to be cast as Jordan on the show in November 2023 and then asked to come back multiple times after that during the villainess’s reign of terror in Genoa City.

The actress reveals that it was great to work with a ‘fantastic’ group of actors/actresses on the soap.

The ‘Jordan’ role was Zenk’s first time back in the land of daytime drama since her As the World Turns run as Barbara Ryan ended in 2010 with the show’s cancellation. She states that the Y&R part was, “… a gift at my age and tenure.”

The TV Insider interview quickly turned to Zenk’s more recent ‘partner in crime’, Ian Ward, played by the incredible Ray Wise.

While she had never met Wise before the Y&R, Zenk states, “He’s everything that everyone told me he would be. He’s the real deal. He is kind, he is supportive, he is gracious, he’s funny as hell and he’s a pure gentleman.”

In fact, Zenk revealed that since she finished her run, Wise has reached out a number of times to check up on her.

The actress also talked about how touched she was by the reception she received from Y&R audiences.

She added that she didn’t expect the ‘overwhelming welcome’ she got when Jordan returned to the canvas last year after being out of storylines for months. Now, Zenk states, she’s overwhelmed with sadness about her exit.
