Christine Brown is famous for more than being the first Sister Wives star to kick Kod Brown to the curb. She also has her TLC show called Cooking With Just Christine. But this week, she shared her recipe for frantically busy days on her social media.
Christine Brown Gets Kudos As A Mom
When the OG kids were younger, it fell to Christine to raise the kids. The other wives helped out, but Robyn Brown didn’t seem interested in that. And, Janelle was often busy elsewhere. So, it’s not a big shock that Christine quickly learned to make nutritious meals for lots of kids on her busy days.
Now that she’s married to David Woolley, there are still many mouths for Christine Brown to feed. He’s got kids and grandchildren. Of course, Truely Brown also lives with her mom. This week, the Sister Wives star took to her Instagram and shared a recipe that seems easy to prepare when things get a bit chaotic.
Christine Brown Shares Easy Crockpot Recipe
Reminding her TLC fans that sometimes, days get a bit chaotic, David’s wife told them she has a great recipe for “Crockpot Chicken Taco Soup!” It’s easy to do, and once the ingredients are prepared, it basically cooks itself.
Next, Christine Brown listed the ingredients as follows:
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 can (16 oz) chili beans, undrained
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed & drained
- 1 can (15 oz) corn, undrained
- 1 bottle (12 oz) light beer
- 2 cans (10 oz each) diced tomatoes with green chiles, undrained
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 packet (1.25 oz) taco seasoning
- 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
- Chopped avocado (optional)
The Sister Wives star told her TLC fans that the “cheese, tortilla chips, and optional avocado” are there for serving and are not mixed into the crockpot.
Preparing The Crockpot Meal Is Easy
If you own a crockpot, you will know that you can set it for low or high. High cooks in about “3–4 hours.” Meanwhile, the low setting will take about “7–8 hours” to cook.
Christine Brown told her TLC fans to “Combine onion, chili beans, black beans, corn, beer, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and taco seasoning in a slow cooker. Add chicken, pressing down lightly to submerge.”
Once it’s cooked, you can then take out the chicken and “shred [it] with two forks” before putting it back in the crockpot. Finally, you “heat for 15 minutes.”
TLC fans appreciated the recipe and many of them loved the idea of such a tasty meal that can be produced so easily. Do you have a crockpot?
