In September last year, Sister Wives star Christine Brown sued her former spiritual husband, Kody Brown over custody of their daughter, Truely Brown. Now, it seems as if the court case has backfired on the TLC star who is now married to David Woolley.
Christine Brown Fights Kody Brown Over Truely
Sister Wives fans saw that back in October of 2022, Kody Brown told his former third wife that they needed a custody agreement for Truely. Additionally, he told her that if they didn’t sort it out, the state could take Truely Brown away from them. At the time, TLC fans accused him of telling lies.
Since then, Christine Brown went ahead and sued Kody Brown, also requesting a DNA sample. Well, in time, a court date was set and documents emerged that revealed the court would treat the lawsuit over child support and custody as a “significant dispute.”
TLC Star Christine Brown Faces A Setback
InTouch Weekly reported that Without A Crystal Ball reported that the case seems to have backfired for Kody Brown’s ex. You can see the video about it further down in the article. The outlet confirmed that there was a setback, and it could mean something bad might happen for Truely.
Although TLC star Christine Brown was never married to Kody Brown, and he is legally married to only Robyn Brown, the court doesn’t seem to worry about that. The outlet noted that Truely Brown could end up with a “Guardian ad Litem.” That doesn’t mean the guardian takes over raising Truely, but they would investigate the child’s situation and make recommendations.
Custody Case Has Backfired?
It seems to be a very strange word in 2025. Reportedly, The court ruled that Christine Brown and Kody Brown would be treated as a married couple. The outlet wrote, “The former couple has been required to attend mandatory parenting and divorce classes, as well as mediation.”
It seems strange as both parties are legally married to other people. And they were never legally married in the first place. Certainly, it seems as if Christine never anticipated the case would take a turn like that.
What are your thoughts on the court ruling that they will treat Christine Brown’s custody fight with Kody Brown as a normal divorce? Are you afraid that Truely Brown could end up with a court-appointed guardian who makes a report that goes against her mom?
