Carlo Rota (Jenz Sidwell) Said These 7-Words About Working On General Hospital

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) may (or may not) be the person behind the massive explosion in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse.

After all, the incident was the reason his son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) developed life-threatening burn injuries and had to head to a recovery clinic in Germany.

With that said, it sounds like the actors that portray both the villain and the mob boss are becoming rather chummy.

Rota sat down with Benard during his latest ‘State of Mind’ podcast, talking about his experience in the land of daytime drama.

Carlo Rota Is Loving General Hospital

Benard asked Rota how he likes working on the soap, to which the actor replied that he “loves it”, adding, “So Much Of It Is A Surprise!”

As this is Rota’s first run in the land of soaps, it’s great that he’s gotten his feet wet and is enjoying his time on GH.

He also had nothing but praise for the daytime drama, revealing that when he first appeared in the soap, he realized that everyone within the show was on the ‘top of their game’.

Working In Soaps Is All About Speed

Carlo also noted, “Some of the performances, considering their speed, are exceptional.”

Still, daytime actors need to memorize a ton of lines in a short period of time, which Rota acknowledged during his State of Mind interview. The actor goes on to say, “The speed of it …”, which Benard chimed in and then stated, “… is a mother.”

Both actors agreed that the speed of their work environment is ‘crazy’; however, Benard went on to note that, “GH is the best job in the world.”

Rota also stated that he needed some words of wisdom stepping into the soap, as the work can be overwhelming. He added that setting foot on the set for the first day, and 40 pages of dialogue is given. It’s undeniable that daytime actors really so have quite an insane workload.
