Buckingham Palace Issues Rare Statement On Prince Andrew

Last year, multiple news outlets broke the news that the King’s younger brother Prince Andrew was involved in some way with a Chinese spy, whose name was later revealed as Yang Tengbo, even though the nuts and bolts of their dealings are still largely unknown.

During that time, more details emerged that Andrew had granted the spy access to some of the Royal Family’s most important residences, including Buckingham Palace.

Former Duke of York’s Employee Drags King Charles Into Chinese Spy Investigation

Investigation is still ongoing as regarding the Duke of York’s links to Chinese spy Yang Tengbo. A former employee of the Duke’s recently gave evidence to an employment tribunal as part of the process.

Amongst the details the ex-employee Dominic Hampshire shared was one that categorically confirmed King Charles was made aware of an investment fund that Yang was a part of.

In his written evidence, he testified to being present on two occasions when Andrew held meetings with the King to discuss the Eurasia Fund.

In the evidence, Hampshire wrote, “I have had two meetings with the Duke and His Majesty to discuss what the Duke can do moving forwards in a way that is acceptable to His Majesty.”

The statement continued, “It is also of note that, amongst other topics, the Eurasia Fund and Aidan Heavey were discussed on both occasions with His Majesty. (For both these meetings with His Majesty, despite less media interest in the Duke, we took all precautions to get in and out of Windsor Castle without being seen).”

Buckingham Palace Says Focus of King Charles and Prince Andrew’s Windor Castle Meetings Wasn’t Chinese Spy

Buckingham Palace’s reaction to the news was a swift one, as they promptly put out a statement that read, “While His Majesty met with The Duke and his adviser to hear outline proposals for independent funding over the past year, the individual known as H6 was not mentioned at any time or in any way as part of these discussions.”

It’s possible that even though Andrew may have mentioned the Eurasia Fund to King Charles during one of their meetings, the fund wasn’t discussed in detail, since neither King Charles nor his advisors gave their approval to it.
