‘Beyond The Gates’ Spoilers: Is Joey Armstrong In Bed With The Mob?

Beyond The Gates spoilers and rumors tease Joey Armstrong, (Jon Lindstrom) the local casino owner near Fairmont Crest might be in bed with the mob!

When he talked with Doug McBride (Jason Graham) in his car in the episode that aired Friday, March 7 he sure sounded like a mobster-and maybe a loan shark!

That’s Not The Kind Of Friend Most People Want!

Doug hopped into the car of casino owner Joey, revealing that Randy Parker (Maurice B. Kerry) urged him to come clean. He explained how much he has invested in his children’s education, crediting Randy for his support.

Joey then revealed the staggering debt Doug owes; intrigued by Doug’s situation, Joey saw potential in him, appreciating the bond they’ve formed.

With Doug having settled his debt, Joey was eager to extend further assistance-grateful, Doug exited the vehicle, but just then, Randy jumped in.

Joey coldly informed him that their friendship is over-to him, Doug is merely a target, destined to dig himself into a financial pit from which he’ll never emerge.

If That Didn’t Sound Like A Mobster As Well As A Loan Shark, What Does?

If that conversation, which took place in Friday’s episode doesn’t sound like a loan shark, what does-and Joey’s demeanor sounds like that of a mobster. Anyone who knows the history of Las Vegas and all its casinos knows the founders were Mafia figures.

And it sounds like Joey Armstrong’s name perhaps should be Joey Strongarm, because it’s easy to imagine him strong arming owed money out of a mark!

Fairmont Crest, with all the wealthy Duprees, Hamiltons, Richardsons, and others is a perfect place for Joey to operate his casino-and a perfect place to facilitate gambling addictions!

Millions and billions of dollars made, and millions and billions of dollars lost-and Joey setting himself up as the bank and the collection agent-what a racket!

In Bed With The Mob-Most Definitely!

Even if Joey isn’t a made man himself, he’s definitely in bed with the mob to get his illegal business done. On the outside, casinos look like luxury hotels with all the luxury rooms, the luxury restaurants, and most of all, the luxury money needed to used them.

Most people go to a casino to play slots or poker as a lark, some go to satisfy their gambling addiction-a legitimate one will always have a phone number to Gamblers Anonymous.

But judging from how Joey seems to operate, his casino probably doesn’t offer referrals like that-the deeper the gambling addiction, the deeper the pockets. And that’s the bottom line of Joey’s business and his mobster partners!
