B&B Spoilers: Taylor Defeats Brooke – Ridge’s Destiny Changes

Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) ended an era when telling his Logan that he remained committed to Taylor.

Brooke was sure that Ridge would return to her, believing Taylor was a distraction. Well, it wasn’t, and the destiny line, pitch, belief, or whatever one wants to term Bridge is done.

Taylor’s return to Los Angeles, California, wasn’t intended as a play for Ridge. She thought death was imminent and wanted to set things right with her family. But a perceived fatal heart diagnosis wasn’t correct.

Heart Failure Was Never An Option

Oh, Taylor’s heart was failing her, but not in the sense that it was causing her to perish. Instead, she suffered from the effects of pinning for Ridge for decades and, more recently, losing him to Brooke.

The storyline that played out in recent years, when Krista Allen (Taylor) delivered her alternate take on this iconic character, was worthwhile. Ridge became disillusioned with Brooke at that point in the plot and turned to Taylor.

But Ridge didn’t stay with her, deciding that Taylor betrayed his trust. The intractable nature of his decision meant that another reunion with Brooke happened.

Taylor’s life-changing experience deepened her perspective. She saw herself, her family, and Ridge differently. Taylor wasn’t desperate to be with Ridge, realizing that was bad for her health.

The segments with the healer at the cliff house helped Ridge and Taylor reconnect in ways they hadn’t in years. Their bond was forced, remained strong, and proved to be one that Brooke surprisingly couldn’t overcome.

Brooke Logan’s Italian Days And Nights

The mystical reconnection Brooke and Ridge realized in Italy implied that destiny was in effect. Ridge seeing the seeming true love of his life through that keyhole, which viewers also observed through many retrospective replays, made for a great revival love story.

All was swell in soap land for fans of this couple. They were blissful and appeared to be living the destiny Brooke so often referenced through the decades. But then Taylor unexpectedly reappeared.

So, one of B&B’s fabulous location shoots became a period of resurgence for Brooke and Ridge. But it didn’t represent permanence.

Ridge Forrester Freely Chooses Taylor Hayes

Taylor’s failure in past instances happened because she was pursuing Ridge. In this scenario, he pursued her.

The needy nature that Taylor projected wasn’t appealing. It didn’t inspire Ridge or cause him to shift his emotional gaze from Brooke, who is intoxicating.

Ridge had plenty of time to compare his options. Both women represent positive family legacies and genuine love. Yet, as Brooke and Taylor knew, they couldn’t allow Ridge to keep them both on a soapy string.

So, Ridge’s commitment to remain with Taylor means Brooke is forced to seek a new destiny. That establishes Lang’s next likely compelling storyline.
