Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) has her head in the clouds and rather than chide her, Steffy is glad to see it. But Steffy’s demeanor is something she’ll need to self-monitor because Hope is insightful.
It would be suspicious if Wood’s character returned to FC and played nice. So, in addition to keeping her eyes wide open, Steffy will need to keep her rivalry with Hope front and center.
Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) is known by her nose. She’s recognized as the greatest fragrance savant in the world. Yes, the fashion business is a bit shallow.
Steffy’s move to use Daphne as an operative is brilliant but relies on pure distraction. The fragrance Daphne claimed to have created specifically for the revitalized company Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) took over is named Forrester. That’s perfect.
Hilaire’s character is pushing a specific narrative. She’s pretending to be impressed by Carter’s vision of transforming FC into a luxury brand conglomerate and she wants to be the fragrance arm.
The scent her unfurled scarf released was meant to intoxicate Carter and Hope. That worked. The next step in Steffy’s plan is for Hilaire to attract Carter to her.
Hope always felt insecure when she and Steffy competed for Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) affection. The seeming restart of the storyline, in which Liam intended to win Hope back, fizzled after he announced his goal.
So, Hope’s focus shifted because Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) remains out of the country with Douglas Forrester (Henry Samiri), and Liam’s anticipated play for Hope hasn’t developed. Enter Carter stage left.
Steffy’s plan plays into her history with Hope and knowledge of the present. Hope and Carter haven’t been together long, and Daphne’s presence will alter their trajectory.
Assuming Carter is drawn to Daphne, Hope will surely be unnerved and respond accordingly. That outcome will help to give Steffy a wider opening.
Is there no doubt that Steffy will succeed?
Not really. In time, Steffy’s plan will succeed in some form and to a certain extent. While there are likely bumps in the daytime road, Steffy seems bound to succeed and create a dynamic where FC returns to Forrester family control.
Assuming the above happens, Carter isn’t in line to be forgiven again by Eric Forrester (John McCook), as he was at the end of the Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) era. If Hope isn’t shielded by her mother, she could also be out of FC.
Steffy and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) should be running their family business by spring at the latest. Eric will return to executive suite as well and all will be righted in this soapy world unless an unexpected twist or compromise storyline conclusion is coming.
