Recent developments indicate that Welcome to Plathville stars Barry Plath, his ex-wife, Kim, and Veronica Peters, Micah Plath’s ex-girlfriend, had a major falling out. Now, social media sources suggest that she accused Barry of believing in shapeshifting reptilian aliens living among us.
The Accusations From Veronica
Rumors started that Micah and his brother, Isaac had a massive fight, and Micah ended up at the ER with substantial facial injuries. It allegedly happened after Lydia Plath’s wedding reception. Since then, many more details leaked. On Reddit, Veronica was allegedly verified by the moderator of a subreddit. However, some TLC fans are skeptical because they never saw the verification.
This week, a comment by someone who goes under that handle suggested Barry believes in a widespread conspiracy theory that claims shapeshifting reptillian aliens live amongst us. These creatures supposedly enslave humans for nefarious reasons. Something to think about is that Veronica signed an NDA, and considering that, she’s supposedly spilling a lot of tea.
Remember, you can’t believe everything you read on the internet. However, it is an interesting accusation, nonetheless. On Reddit this week, u/Banana8686 shared a screenshot. In it, Veronica wrote:
I was once left in a basement with [Barry] in MN where he spoke about lizard people and the Freemasons. I was scared to say the least.
What Is The Conspiracy Theory?
The theory about the reptilian aliens, who are believed to have the ability to take over world leaders, allegedly arrived via David Icke, who used to be a football pundit. Plenty of people who believe it also believe that the Earth is flat and/or that aliens are demons.

Tied to the Illuminati are rumors that the “society secretly controls and masterminds global affairs,” per Daniela Mahl et al. on Sage Journals.
Fans Of The Show React
Most fans of the show mocked Barry Plath, and one of them quipped, “He knows about lizard people because he is one.” Another member of the discussion wrote, “Barry being an Illuminati conspiracy nut tracks.” Here’s another scathing comment: “When I see people saying Barry’s hot, I want to offer to take them to the nearest psychiatric facility to be cured of their attraction to obvious creeps.”
Will all the drama mean more people tune in and watch a new season? Already, rumors about the upcoming season claim that Kim Plath and Ken Palmer run into problems. People won’t see as much of Olivia Plath, and Moriah goes off to make more music. Lydia’s engagement is shown, and Ethan finds a new girlfriend.
One thing that’s not likely to be shown is anything that puts the family in a bad light. In fact, people have already accused the network of sweeping Kim’s DUI under the carpet. But, many people will probably tune in to watch the fundamentalist family and their increasing drama.
