7 Little Johnstons fans have long memories. They recall how Amber openly told viewers on TLC that her daughter from Russia was different. She and Trent prevented their daughter from pursuing her dream of studying beauty and hair. Plus, they railroaded her into college without much of Anna’s input. Additionally, a huge fight erupted when Anna wanted to leave home. So, fans were thrilled when she was the first child to get her own home. 

Anna Johnston was always wrong, it seemed. And ahead of the current season, she became estranged from her family. Talking about the upcoming show before the premiere, she said that she’s “feeling like Hell” about the content in it. Now it all plays out, some TLC fans believe that the producers gave her a bad edit even as a child. Remember, she was only 14 when Season 1 aired.

When the TLC star recently did a Q&A on social media, a fan told her she was “so funny.” Unfortunately, the reply wasn’t a happy one. Anna talked about how she struggled with her mental health while filming for TLC for a decade. Soon, the post ended up on Reddit.

Anna Johnston told her fans in the caption of her selfie:

TLC Fans Discuss Damage By Bad Edits 

Lots of 7 Little Johnstons fans discussed Anna Johnston being damaged by the TLC show. But, one person who got upvoted seemed to nail it. They commented:

That’s the thing about reality shows and kids. I didn’t watch this one until 2 seasons ago so they were mostly all grown or close. But a minor should not be getting the “bad edit” it’s so damaging. I don’t watch reality shows with kids now but in the past I’ve never seen any show make a kid look like that.

Other comments agreed with the bad edit. Here are a few more thoughts:

• This breaks my whole heart for her. I was the Anna in my family. I was the black sheep everyone picked on constantly. It takes such a mental toll on you. I hate seeing it play out in real life on tv. She deserves so much better. I hope she’s able to find the support and happiness she deserves.
• I hate this so much for her. There are so many former reality kids now writing books and telling their stories about how being on a reality show as a child damaged their mental health. A big part of me wishes minors weren’t allowed on reality shows.
