American Idol Finalist, Colin Stough Arrested For Possible DUI

Colin Stough appeared in American Idol in Season 21, the talented young singer was only beaten out from winning by Iam Tongi and Megan Danielle. Unfortunately, he ended up arrested after a car crash and could face DUI charges. 

The DIU Details

TMZ reported on March 1, that Stough ran afoul of the law in “Tennessee after a car crash.” The young man who was just 18 when he auditioned for the talent show, “was taken into custody early Friday,” Citing sources in the state, the details involved “a single-vehicle crash.”

The incident that happened on the “I-840 East near the 37-mile marker in Williamson County…just outside of Nashville,” was attended by Highway Patrol. Arrested and checked for injuries at a hospital, Colin Stough faces charges of “DUI, underage consumption of alcohol, and failure to exercise due care.”

A Promising Singer Loses His Shine

The American Idol contestant isn’t the first talented singer to run into legal problems. Fortunately for Stough, no deaths were involved, unlike Caleb Kennedy from Season 19 of the reality TV contest. In November last year, Caleb, who killed an incident man in his inebriated state was sentenced to eight years in prison, with three years already served counting towards the total. 

Laine Hardy also lost his shine after his arrest for placing a listening device in his girlfriend’s room. In his case, he was offered and participated in a program to clear his record. But, his music career took a downturn for a while. However, he’s clawing his way back and recently released a new song titled That Man, which seems to be doing well. 

Music Fans React On Instagram

Colin Stough disappointed American Idol fans who saw the news on Instagram. If you don’t know, his music career was taking an uptick before the alleged DUI offense. Here are some reactions:

Other fans revealed their disappointment by simply trolling President Trump and TMZ for a report on One Direction. While some commenters wondered why the DUI was only “suspected,” it’s normal for the media to write about alleged crimes until a verdict is decided upon. After all, if Colin’s very lucky, his legal team might be able to get him off the charges.
