Five Fast (Fun) Facts About The Actor

CBS recently released a social media video with the actor playing ‘Fast Five with Jermaine Rivers’. Here were the five (fast and fun) facts revealed about Rivers:

1. Rivers was born in Vienza, Italy, and was an army brat growing up.
2. Three words he came up with to describe Damian Kane was: cool, calculating, and mysterious.
3. The Godfather movie was a major influence on him becoming an actor.
4. Rivers looks forward to scenes with Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) on the soap.
5. He offered a hint on Damian’s storyline, stating, his character will ‘shake things up’ in the little town, via some ‘subterfuge and trickery’.

Another fun fact? Rivers’ mother is a huge fan of the Y&R, and the actor grew up watching the soap – something he recently mentioned to TV Insider. Interestingly enough, his mom nailed who he would be playing as soon as he told her the news about the show, stating that she questioned him on if he was, “gonna play the new son”. Moms, just always know, right?

Rivers’ Acting Resume

While the actor is new to the land of daytime television, he’s very familiar with ‘drama’ working on shows like Our Kind of People, Queen Sugar, the reboot of Dynasty, The Haves and Have Nots, as well as Devious Minds, and Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias.

He also played Marvel superhero Shatter on the Fox series The Gifted from 2017-2018, something he noted on an Instagram post when he uploaded photo of his character.

In the caption, he wrote: “Sometimes the characters we play show us how to be better versions of ourselves. Sometimes they live in us long after the cameras stop rolling, and for that I’m grateful …”
