7 Little Johnstons Fans Fume, Amber Johnston’s Cold With Trent

Trent Johnston from 7 Little Johnstons advised his TLC fans on Instagram in 2024, that his dad, “Poppy,” passed away at the age of 90. In Season 15, Episode 7, the show revisited the sad news, and in a tearful eulogy, he remembered his father. However, critics felt that Amber Johnston wasn’t as comforting as she could have been. 

Cold-Hearted Reality TV Star?

Judging by social media, Amber is probably the most unpopular reality TV star on the 7 Little Johnstons show. Many people find her abrasive, and they won’t forget how she often treated her daughter, Anna, harshly. However, this week, they felt that she was also cold toward her husband, Trent.

Often, TLC fans see that the mom and dad of two biological kids and three adopted children get amorous on the show. So, they appear to be very loving with each other. However, some critics on Reddit believe she demonstrated a remarkable lack of empathy with her husband when he talked about his father passing away. 

Pulling Away When Trent Reached For her

Further down in this article, you can see where Amber Johnston pulled away from Trent Johnston at the 3:36 marker during Access Hollywood’s recap of Episode 7. Sitting on the confessional couch next to his wife, the TLC star recalled the day he received a call to let him know his father died. 

Reaching out his hand, he placed it on Amber’s arm, and she tried to shrug him off. In the discussion on Reddit, one commenter fumed about it, saying:

… I was furious that he reached over when starting to talk about it and she pushed him off. That tells you all you need to know about her imo.

Angry Fans Slam The TV Star

7 Little Johnstons fans didn’t let Amber get away with her attitude. Many of them felt bad for Trent Johnston, who later cried in the episode. After all, if she could be so cold in front of the cameras, then what might she be like when they’re not filming?

• …I was telling my wife that it shows Amber’s character that she wasn’t rubbing his back or anything to show solidarity or comfort.
• She’s mad that he passed on her birthday. How selfish of Poppy, just one more sacrifice for martyr Amber. She was pouting that it’s still not her year!
• It wasn’t about her. That’s the problem. Honestly, she’s probably relieved that he’s out of the way. Now she can go back to everything being about her
• I want to hug Trent so bad. I can’t believe the producers left the clip in there of him trying to hold Amber and her just sitting there so hostile.
