The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) are nearly together.

Flirtation was born through the misery of discovering that their loved ones betrayed them and is being followed by a romantic connection.

Whether this is purely a rebound scenario for one or both people remains to be seen. But make no mistake, there is chemistry between this forming couple.

Thompson and Hope consistently provide top-shelf performances. So, the on-screen connection their characters are developing feels natural and even right.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Of Course, Adam Newman Is To Blame

Billy and Sally blame Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) for what happened in Baltimore, Maryland. Of course, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) was the other party.

Billy came to trust Chelsea, and the setup in Burma was long forgiven. So, it was a nice, feel-good, redemptive storyline until Chelsea felt the pullback to Adam.

She’s never stopped loving Grossman’s character, which Billy feared during their revived relationship and reluctantly accepted.

While Sally gives Adam some grace for being Adam, Billy still gives no quarter to the man who covered the accidental death of Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono).

Y&R Spoilers – What About Billy Abbott’s Backstory?

Sally doesn’t seem concerned with Billy’s highly checkered relationship past. His true love is Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). But she seems to be falling back in love with the father, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), of her rediscovered daughter, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).

Billy has unresolved self-control issues. He can’t keep himself in check as he again proved when left to his own devices at Chancellor’s helm.

Now, as Billy is reeling from being forcibly removed by his mom, he needs something positive to focus on. So, it’s flattering that Sally likes him and wants to be with him. In some ways, it’s as simple as the explanation offered in the last sentence.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sally Spectra Needs A Life Too

Sally was mistreated by Adam twice. He claimed not to love her the first time they were together, which was untrue.

Adam’s endless apologies did not soothe the heartbreak she endured. But time passed, and she allowed him a second chance.

To say that he squandered it would be a massive understatement. Sally forgave Adam and was willing to embrace his personality flaws because she felt love would conquer all.

Instead, her love for him proved even more destructive, and like Billy, her fear that a Chadam reboot would be inevitable came to pass.

Sally and Billy are a tremendous, soapy combination. Their motivations to be together blend circumstance, mutual appreciation, and wanting to stick to their connected exes in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
