It was only a matter of time before Victor decided he had enough of the chaos in Glissade’s executive suite and took decisive action to restore order.
A few weeks back, he had cautioned Kyle and Audra that their constant squabbling as co-CEOs needed to cease, or he would intervene. In a dramatic turn during the October 2 episode, Victor made a significant move by firing Audra.
But before that pivotal moment unfolded, Audra had a conversation with Victor. She talked about her latest skincare product, sharing how their new partner, Bob Elton, was fully supportive of the initiative.
Victor seemed genuinely impressed, and Audra revealed to him that her pitch might not have come to fruition if Kyle had succeeded in his attempts to undermine her.
Just then, Kyle arrived, and the Newman patriarch inquired about the validity of Audra’s claims; Kyle stood his ground, arguing that Audra’s proposal wasn’t suitable for Glissade.
A heated exchange ensued between Kyle and Audra until Victor intervened, asserting that for any semblance of peace to exist, only one of them could remain.
Kyle then did something no son should do to his mother-Kyle stepped into Abbott Mansion and noticed Diane Abbott’s (Susan Walters) work laptop was open and unlocked.
After confirming that no one was home, he began sifting through the files on the computer until he stumbled upon details regarding Jabot’s innovative “game-changing moisturizer.”
The Abbott heir eagerly shared the news with Victor, boasting that his willingness to betray his own family demonstrated he was fit to lead Glissade independently. Meanwhile, Diane found herself in a heated discussion with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at Society.
Jack passionately expressed his desire to shield Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in his looming conflict with Victor, but Diane urged him to allow Billy to handle his own struggles.
She emphasized that she and Jack had pressing matters to address, such as the need to fill the vacant COO position at Jabot.
Jack was frustrated with her demeanor and couldn’t fathom why she would consider handing over Kyle’s former position to someone else.
The Abbott patriarch believed that replacing Kyle wouldn’t mend their strained relationship with their son, while Diane dismissed the idea that Kyle would even care.
As the couple’s argument escalated, Jack received a phone call and stepped away; just then, Audra entered the scene, and Diane wasted no time in confronting her.
With a sharp tone, Diane inquired what it would take to keep Audra away from her son. Audra, understandably taken aback, clarified that Kyle was not in any danger from her.
Jack stepped in to diffuse the charged atmosphere between the two women, prompting Audra to make her way to the bar. From her vantage point, she listened in as Jack and Diane exchanged some heated remarks.
Believing that Jack and Diane’s marital issues were crucial information, Audra hurried to find Victor to relay her findings; unfortunately for her, Victor showed little interest in the gossip.
The situation took a turn from awkward to downright uncomfortable when Victor stated, “Miss Charles, thank you for your service—you’re fired.” Audra was left in shock, but we suspect this won’t keep her down for long; she might just land Kyle’s former position at Jabot!
