Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) might be surprised to know that he currently ranks below his brother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), and Diane Abbott (Susan Walters) on Victor’s hit list.
The audience knows that Victor has been orchestrating a multi-pronged plan to get Jack. The Moustache is still seething because he believes Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was endangered, which remains a complete soap overreaction.
Most importantly, Nikki is fine. She no longer has Jack as her sponsor, as Victor demanded.
Having alcohol forced into her veins was a horrific event. The now-jailed Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) exacted that plot to punish Victor.
In retrospect, it’s fair to compare both combatants, Victor and Jordan, and tag them as equal villains. Jordan’s prison status exists because Victor bested her.
He also became infuriated that Jack felt compelled to overdose to shock Nikki to her senses. While reckless, Jack’s ploy worked.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was stunned when his father shut his mother down at the Genoa City Athletic Club. He never anticipated Bergman’s character siding with him over Diane, and the mention of Diane abandoning them hammered the point home.
Fans need to find out if Jack and Diane are having marital problems or playing a high-stakes game. It’s plausible to believe that their recent public outbursts were prearranged.
If the above plays out, the first step to regaining Kyle’s trust has been taken. Assuming they are conspiring, this could work if he or someone else doesn’t discover what Jack and Diane are doing.
Alternatively, if Diane is fed up with Jack and he’s had enough of her, then it’s still a good bet to believe that Kyle will return to his father’s fold. Diane will have a lot of work to do if she’s alienated her son and husband.
Diane faked her death for many years and then managed to win Jack and Kyle back. That’s impressive, and it leads Y&R fans to wonder what happened and leads Y&R fans to wonder what happens between a recently happy couple and a reformed family.
So, it could be that she’s playing everyone or will use what is a real dilemma to turn the tables on Victor. Diane was twice married to the man and knows that he undervalues her intellect.
Victor believes he knows everyone better than they know themselves, with his enemies being at the bottom of that long list. Therefore, Diane might be able to position herself to neutralize Victor and gain Jack’s admiration while also prying Kyle away from the Moustache’s clutches.
