Y&R Spoilers: The Unique Way The Soap Is Celebrating 45 Years Of Nikki Newman

Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate that while Nikki Newman is struggling between staying sober and battling psycho-stalker Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), her portrayer is celebrating a major milestone.

Tuesday, February 20 marks 45 years since actress Melody Thomas Scott stepped into the role of Nikki, and the soap is doing something very unique to celebrate.

Y&R spoilers hint that Nikki is bracing herself for a confrontation with Jordan during February Sweeps, but in real life, she’s riding a very high wave.

Not only is she the centerpiece of a massive storyline on her show, but the daytime drama just did a little something “extra” to honor her 45 years in Genoa City.

Some characters are lucky enough to get a sole episode dedicated to them and their lives in the little town when celebrating an anniversary.

However, Mrs. Moustache is getting something a little special. The daytime drama has created a custom T-shirt, that showcases all the different iconic (hair)styles of Nikki, over the years.

In fact, not only is Nikki getting her own T-shirt, but the Y&R’s official Instagram account spotlighted some major GC players, donning the new shirt.

Melody’s onscreen son, Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) opens the video (wearing the T) by saying, “To my mama, Melody Thomas Scott, celebrating a huge, huge, huge anniversary, an absolute icon on this show. What better way to celebrate you than with these incredible T-shirts, looking at all your best looks. We love you, the whole world loves you, and you deserve everything. Love you, Mama.”

After he’s done with his speech, video clips flash with other castmates wearing the Nikki “T” as music is playing in the background.

From Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) to Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman-Abbott), Mark Grossman (Adam Newman), Hayley Erin (Claire Grace), and the Moustache himself, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden); it’s clear Melody and Nikki are much loved on the Y&R set.
