Tricia Cast has been portraying the character of Nina on The Young and the Restless intermittently since 1986, when the show had been on 13 years.  

While Nina may have departed from Genoa City, Tricia has frequently returned to reconnect with her television family and friends. If the latest rumors hold any truth, we might soon see Nina making yet another comeback, although nothing’s in stone.

After dedicating 15 years to the role full-time, Cast exited the show in 2001 when she chose to relocate from California to Tennessee. Nevertheless, she has remained open and available to reprise her beloved character whenever necessary.

A return to the show now certainly makes sense for the character, considering recent storylines. Nina’s recent appearances have primarily revolved around her son Chance (Conner Floyd) and her friend Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell).

She last graced the screen in November 2023, during a tense moment when Chance was shot while on duty-that prompted what turned out to be a temporary career change.

Chance wasn’t real happy in the business world, in spite of being Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) grandson, and now is back on the GCPD.

It seems Nina may be preparing for another return to Genoa City, just a year after her previous appearance, with the current storyline for Chance and Christine revolving around a murder.

Recently, Cast ignited speculation about a possible return of Nina with an intriguing Instagram post, though she didn’t explicitly confirm anything.

She shared a picture of her shadow cast on a parking lot, captioning it, “My California shadow; I recognize this shape!” This led to a flurry of comments from fans eager for her return to Y&R.

One fan expressed, “Hope to see you on Y&R soon,” while another asked, “Tricia & CA=Nina? Or are you just visiting old friends?” Another comment read, “Hope you’re making an appearance as Nina soon to check up on Chance;” clearly, fans are longing for Tricia’s portrayal of Nina on the beloved soap.

Nina’s return hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but she was referenced in the episode that aired on October 25.

In a chat with Chance, Christine revealed that his mother was not pleased about his decision to rejoin the police force. While this could be insignificant, it might also hint at Nina’s comeback.

If she does return, it will coincide with Chance being the most despised figure in Genoa City after he arrested Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) for the murder of Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). Even though Nina stands by her son, she may not fully support his choices.
